Rising senior tennis player Weronika Bloczynska and former UTEP great Tanja Magoc picked up a straight set doubles victory in the opening round of the 2008 Hunt Communities USTA Women's Pro Tennis Classic at Tennis West Sports and Racquet Club Wednesday afternoon.

The tandem dispatched Sabrina Capannolo and Mary Gambale, 7-5, 6-4, in a strong display against the pair which entered rated No. 1,266 in the world.

The duo advances to the second round as result, and will take on top-seeded Lindsay Lee-Waters and Ashley Weinhold on Thursday. Lee-Waters/Weinhold boast a ranking of No. 461, and will provide a stiff test.
