UTEP Adds Canadian National Team Midfielder To Signing Class

UTEP soccer coach Kevin Cross announced that Anoop Josan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Miners beginning in the fall.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Josan was recently selected as a member of the Canadian National Team’s Under-20 squad that is competing in Brazil in April. Most recently, she played for Canada’s U-17 Development team that split a three-game series with Germany in the fall.

She played club ball for the North West United, which was coached by Dean Cordeiro. She was named the 2005 MVP for the outdoor season and was the indoor season’s gold medalist.

She also participated in the 2005 Adidas Cup as a member of the U-18 National Team.

Josan served as captain for the Alberta squad, that was coached by Keith Pritchard, and went 4-1 and appeared in the Gold Medal match of the 2005 Canada Summer Games last August.

She has prior national team experience as a member of the U-17 National Camps in Newfoundland and Vancouver, and the U-18 National Camp in Houston.

Josan's addition brings the total of spring signees to seven.
