UTEP Ranked 31st In Final 2005 Soccer RPI Listing
In the final women’s soccer rating percentage index generated by the NCAA, UTEP was listed at 31st in the nation and first among Conference USA schools.
The Miners also came in at seventh among the 62 schools in the Central Region of the NCAA. UTEP went 20-4-1 last fall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in its first-ever appearance. The Miners finished the season ranked tenth nationally in scoring offense at 2.84 goals per game and eighth in winning percentage at 82 percent. The 20 victories set a school record and tied the C-USA mark, while also ranking tied for sixth in the country. Additionally, UTEP’s plus-four overall improvement from 2004 to 2005 was tied for the 29th-largest turnaround in the country. The Miners improved upon their 13-5-1 record of two years ago and were one of only seven schools listed in the top-30 who had a record above .500 in both seasons. |
