Tulsa First, UTEP Fifth Through 36 Holes of C-USA Championship

Tulsa moved from fifth place to first on day two of the Conference USA Championship on Tuesday at Butterfield Trail Golf Club, while UTEP dropped from a second-place tie to fifth. The Golden Hurricane shot 297 as a team on Tuesday, the low round of the tournament thus far, for a two-day total of 601. East Carolina is in second (303-305-608) heading into Wednesday's final round, while UCF is third (303-314-617), SMU fourth (308-310-618), UTEP fifth (303-321-624), UAB (306-321-627) and Memphis (309-318-627) tied for sixth, Southern Miss eighth (301-331-632) and Marshall ninth (316-338-654). Tulsa's Woeri Shin tied Memphis' Rachel Larson for the low round of the tournament on Tuesday with a one-under-par 71. Shin (76-71-147) is tied with East Carolina's Abby Bools (73-74-147) for the individual lead. UAB's Jaime Brabb is third (72-76-148), while Larson (78-71-149) and Tulsa's Leisl Hasbrouck (72-77-149) are tied for fourth place. UTEP's Deborah Martinez is tied for 14th place through 36 holes with a 10-over-par 154 (75-79). Liz Sobczak is tied for 16th place (76-79-155), Shang-Fan Huang is tied for 19th place (75-81-156), Ana Pastor is in 29th place (77-82-159) and Rosana Gomez is in 39th place (80-88-166). Wednesday's final round will begin at 8 a.m. MST.
