Alex Obomese Back on Hendricks Award Watch List

UTEP senior Alex Obomese has been named to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, presented to the nation's top defensive end. He was also a preseason candidate for the award in 2005.

A Houston native, Obomese earned second team All-Conference USA honors last season. He led the Miners with 6.5 sacks, and was third on the team with 10.5 tackles for losses. Obomese also contributed 57 tackles while starting all 12 games.

Obomese is one of 42 players on the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, which is named for the former three-time All-American at the University of Miami and NFL Hall of Famer. Obomese and UAB senior Larry McSwain are the only Conference USA players on the preseason watch list.
