NCAA Championship Results

1:39 p.m. MST: Keisha Walkes scored two points for the Miners, finishing seventh in the women's shot put final. Walkes had a best of 16.37m (53-8 1/2), which was a P.R. and breaks her own school record of 16.29m (53-5 1/2), which she set in Thursday's prelims. Walkes is the ninth Miner to earn All-American honors at this year's NCAA Meet. With 13 events scored, the UTEP women are tied for 13th place with 11 points and can move up with Blessing Okagbare and Nelly Tchayem competing in the triple jump final at 2 p.m. MST.

2:39 p.m. MST: Elias Koech picked up a fifth-place showing in the men's 800 meters final with a time of 1:47.85 for the third All-American honor of his career. That leaves the UTEP men in seventh place with 21 points with 16 of 21 events scored. Blessing Okagbare and Nelly Tchayem are currently 2-3 in the women's triple jump, which is in progress.

3:28 p.m. MST: Okagbare finished second and Tchayem third in the triple jump. The national champion is Erica McLain of Stanford.
