Helen of Troy Softball Complex
On Nov. 4, 2003, UTEP Athletics Director Bob Stull and University President Diana Natalicio unveiled the home of the Miner softball program, the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. At an estimated cost of $1.8 8million, the brand-new Helen of Troy Softball Complex is the envy of not only schools in the Conference-USA, but schools across the country. The multi-purpose complex is equipped with sizeable locker rooms for softball and soccer teams, a locker room and offices for coaches of both programs, a shower and restroom, area, two lounge/video areas, a conference room, a meeting room, a reception area as well as a storage area. The softball field measures 200-feet down the left an right field lines and 220’ to center. The 607-seat facility includes a VIP seating area, lights, a scoreboard, three bating cages and two bullpens. The Helen of Troy Softball Field is also equipped with 157 chair-backed seats as well as 450 bleacher seats for a total capacity of 607, including a VIP seating area. Under the direction of Kathleen and James Rodriguez, the Miners launched their inaugural season on Feb. 15, 2003 with a win against Sul Ross State. HELEN OF TROY SOFTBALL COMPLEX COMPONENTS
